1. Generally, a stepper motor with a torque that is 50% to 100% larger than the actual need should be selected, because the stepper motor cannot be overloaded, and even a momentary overload may cause out of step, stall or irregular in-situ movement. move.

2. The pulse current input by the upper controller must be large enough (generally > 10mA) to ensure the stable conduction of the photocoupler, otherwise it will cause the stepping motor to lose step; to cause the stepper motor to lose step.

3. The starting frequency should not be too high, and the acceleration process should be set in the starting program, that is, start from the specified starting frequency and accelerate to the set frequency, otherwise it may be unstable or even in an idle state.

4. If the motor is not fixed well, it will cause strong resonance, which will also cause the stepping motor to lose step.

5. It should be understood the inherent weakness of the stepper motor: if the input pulse frequency is too high, it will easily lead to step loss; if the input pulse frequency is too low, it will easily cause resonance; when the speed is too high, the torque will decrease significantly.

6. You should understand the performance of the latest stepping motor, and if necessary, select an advanced stepping motor system that uses the latest control technology. The electromotive force technology increases the torque of the motor at high speed.

Mistakes in choosing a reducer for a stepper motor:

1. It is not that the larger the reduction ratio, the larger the output torque;

The rated load (or rated torque) of the gearbox is the final output torque of the gearbox. In fact, the rated torque refers to the torque that the gearbox can bear.

2. The larger the reduction ratio, the larger the output torque;

If the motor can theoretically output a torque of 50N.m, some gearboxes that actually exceed 12N.m will be damaged.

3. The larger the speed ratio of the gearbox, the higher the output accuracy;

Increasing the speed ratio can indeed subdivide the output angle, but the backlash (backlash) limits the accuracy.

4. Metal gears are good gearboxes;

Powder metallurgy is also a metal gear, but the consistency is poor, and the plastic steel gear can indeed reduce the noise. The noise of the deceleration stepper motor mainly comes from the reduction box. In fact, the low-speed vibration of the stepper motor will also cause noise.
